Essiac

Package Description: 16oz-Cut

Produced in 1922, by a public health nurse named Rene Caisse, essiac  originally came from certain indian tribes who knew of it's astonishing healing power. Essiac is a concoction of herbal supplements found throughout the world, which are combined and taken dry or to make a tea. The original formula for essiac included such plants as burdock root, slippery elm inner bark, sheep sorrel, and Indian rhubarb root.

Although many believe that essiac is proven to cure some forms of cancer, there have been no published medical examples proving that essiac is effective in the treatment of cancer. It has been proven that some of the specific herbs within the concoctions have shown some anti-cancer effects when used in laboratory experiments. However, at this point, there is no scientific evidence to support its use for cancer treatment in humans.

Those who promote essiac believe that it has the abillity to strengthen the immune system, as well as promote well being, alleviate pain, increase appetite, reduce the size of tumors, and prolong life. The herbs contained in the mixture are believed to also relieve inflammation, lubricate joints, stimulate the stomach to a higher degree, and eradicate excess mucus in organs.
Although no scientific evidence can support the claims toward tumor cleansing, it was originally claimed that essiac miraculously changed tumors to normal tissue, through extended use of the herb. Proponents claimed a tumor would become larger and harder after a few doses of Essiac, then it would soften, shrink, and be discharged by the body.

Ingredients:  Dr. Christopher's Essiac Cut contains Burdock Root, Turkey Rhubarb, Sheep Sorrel Herb and Slippery Elm Bark.

Dosage: Available in dry and liquid formulas, Essiac has many different methods of preparation and dosage according to various manufacturers. Some recommend that only spring or non-fluoridated water be used, as fluoridated water may contaminate the effectiveness of the herbs, and most require that refrigeration be applied after brewing. typical dosages are 1 oz taken 1 to 3 times per day. Practitioners advise that essiac tea should be taken on an empty stomach, 2 hours before or after meals for at least 1-2 years.
